GROUNDHOGS, WOODCHUCKS, ETC.:

Groundhogs or woodchucks are considered nuisance

critters as they can dig holes under your home and

undermine your homes foundation or the foundation of

     your banks and roads.

These animals can be removed at any time.  Trapping of

groundhogs or woodchucks does require a depredation

     permit.

           BEAVER:

Beaver are considered nuisance animals as well.  They

can cause major damage to your ponds and lakes by cutting

down trees and small sapplings and damming up your

waterways.  These animals can be removed at any time

but trapping may require a depredation permit.

      O'POSSUMS

The O'possum being a marsupial is unique in that they have

not been found to be vectors of rabies.  They can be

captured and relocated in accordance with state law.  Their

waste usually creates a smell that alerts people to their

      presence in homes.

      DEER/BEAR:

Deer, Bear, and Wild Turkey are listed as big game species,

therefore dealing with any of these three species requires

direct intervention by a North Carolina Wildlife Resource

Commission Officer.  If hunting is allowed in your area,

these species can be taken during regular hunting season

with the proper hunting license.  You can contact your local

development Home Owner's Association, your local police

or sheriff's department for local regulations and contact the

NC Wildlife Resource Commission for more information on

hunting regulations. Contact us for more information on

ways to deal with these animals without depredation.  We
